Dear Students,
The English Exemption Exam will be held on 08.09.2026, at Ataköy Building. You need to check your exam time and hall on the announcements tab of “26-27 İngilizce Muafiyet site” on CATS (https://cats.iku.edu.tr/portal) or the announcements of https://ydyo.iku.edu.tr/ web site.
İsteğe bağlı hazırlık eğitimi almak isteyen öğrencilerimizin muafiyet sınavına girmelerine gerek yoktur.
Important reminders about the exam are as follows:
1. The duration of the exam, which includes 50 multiple-choice questions in total, is 45 minutes.
2. On the exam day, students are required to present a valid ID (ID card, passport, student card, etc.) and arrive at the campus with their CATS username and password. Students who have not received their username and password via SMS must contact the relevant department of the University before the exam day to obtain their username and password.
3. The exam will be conducted in two sessions, and each student will only participate in one session according to the exam schedule shared by the Department. Students must check their exam time slot and venue information by searching for their student number in the venue lists. The venue lists will be shared soon.
4. Our students are required to get a minimum score of 60-69 in order to be exempt from Foreign Language I and 70-100 out of 100 points in order to be exempt from Foreign Language I and Foreign Language II.
Detailed planning will be shared soon. We kindly ask our students to be in their exam hall 15 minutes before the exam starts.
