Purpose
Guidance on Progression to Degree is an event designed to help preparatory students bridge the gap between their English foundation year and their departmental studies. Organized by the School of Foreign Languages, this event provides students with early exposure to their faculty with department heads, and program-specific expectations.

What It Includes

• Students meet with the head of their future department in a dedicated session to discuss;
• Department mission and structure
• Program content and academic expectations
• Skills needed for success in Year 1
• Language demands and how English will continue to be relevant

Format & Timing

• Organized by SFL, with cooperation from university departments
• Delivered once a year
• Can be held face-to-face or online, depending on availability and program size
